Happy Year of the Dog!!
It's so fun to now be able to celebrate New Year twice a year. We actually went out to celebrate on Friday evening. Normally 'Chung's parents cook a huge feast for the New Year celebration, but his mom's been sick for the past week or two (and especially didn't want to take the chance of getting 'Chung's 94 y.o. grandpa sick), so this year we had to settle for going out to a favorite local Chinese restaurant. It was delicious despite the fact that I couldn't eat about 85% of it (shellfish). It's amazing to me that just about every dish we eat has some story behind it...and as we eat 'Chung's dad shares all of the legends and stories behind each. At the end of dinner Grandpa Ting...who seems to have a never-ending supply of jade jewelry...presented each of us ladies with a necklace with a jade dog pendant. It's lovely.
My big question is: Will it be the year of my Dog? Hopefully, I'll be able to get one this year. (the big one...not the mouse)
Hope you're all well...maybe I'll make my resolutions today. Work less? That'd be nice... Realistic resolutions? hmmm...
